Alphas is an American television series of the science fiction and superhero fantasy genres. The show was created by Zak Penn and Michael Karnow and aired on Syfy for two seasons from 2011 to 2012. Season two of the show ran for thirteen episodes and aired on Monday evenings from July 23rd to October 22nd, 2012. All of the regular cast members from season one returned to reprise their roles for season two including, David Strathairn as Doctor Lee Rosen, Ryan Cartwright as Gary Bell, Warren Christie as Cameron Hicks, Azita Ghanizada as Rachel Pirzad, Laura Mennell as Nina Theroux and Malik Yoba as Bill Harken. Joining the cast of season two was Erin Wray in the role of Kat. Recurring guest stars for this season include Kathleen Munroe as Danielle Rosen, Mahershala Ali as Nathan Clay and John Pyper-Ferguson as Stanton Parish, all of whom made appearances in season one as well. Because the producers of the show expected Alphas to carry on for a third season, season two ended on cliffhanger, leaving many plot elements unresolved. Alphas: Season Two was released on DVD in Region 1 format by Universal Studios on July 16th, 2013. Special features on the collection included deleted scenes and a gag reel.
