|First:||"The Dark Moon"|
Araya Calavera is a fictional werewolf hunter and a minor recurring character featured in the Teen Wolf television series. Played by actress Ivonne Coll, she first appeared in the premiere episode of season four, "The Dark Moon".
Scott McCall, Stiles Stilinski, Kira Yukimura, Lydia Martin and Malia Tate traveled to Mexico in search of their missing friend, Derek Hale. Believing that he had been abducted by the Calavera cartel, they infiltrated one of the cartel's night clubs and attempted to bribe her with $50,000 American dollars for Derek's freedom. Having been in the werewolf hunting business for a long time, Araya was not about to be muscled over by a bunch of teenagers. As a show of force, she had Severo Calavera flood the nightclub with an aerosol form of Wolfsbane, incapacitating Scott.
Araya took a keen interest in both Scott McCall and Lydia Martin. She had very little experience with Banshees, but also wanted to know what kind of Alpha werewolf Scott had become. She had Scott hooked up to a machine that sent electrical charges through his body, and forced Kira to up the amperage as she questioned him. As it turned out, Araya not only did not have Derek Hale, but was just as interested in finding him as the others. After torturing Scott, she gleaned some insights from him as he determined that the one who most likely kidnapped Derek was the formerly deceased Kate Argent, who was now a shapeshifter known as a Nagual.
Araya later had a meeting with Lydia at a café. She was curious about how her banshee powers worked. Gesturing towards two of her armed gunmen, she asked Lydia if she could determine how soon of them were fated to die. Lydia couldn't provide Araya any answers, so Araya took her knife and threw it into one of the men's chests, killing him. When asked why shed did this, Araya said, "Because he stole from me".
