It's a Shame About Ray[]

Fifteen months later: Josh, Aidan and Sally are all in the kitchen at 3638 Mayford. They all seem healthy and happy. Sally picks on Josh for the way he is butchering a lobster. The topic turns towards the inevitability of death, but Aidan smiles and chants repeatedly, "We're not going to die." In the present day, a few weeks earlier, Aidan awakens in his coffin mumbling "We're not going die". He is emaciated and disheveled and suffering from severe mental trauma.

Nora and Josh go to see a psychic - the latest of many in the hopes of making contact with Sally, who has gone silent shortly after disappearing into Limbo. The psychic's vision offers them little, but they reflect upon the events of the previous year when Nora was forced to shoot Ray. Having shot him in the shoulder, she wanted Josh to finish him off so they would be cured of their lycanthropy. Ray attacked Nora and Josh was forced to bludgeon him to death with a heavy rock.

Exhausted with the never-ending search for psychics, Josh begins to lose confidence in their search, but Nora reminds him that Aidan and Sally are still out there and that they mustn't lose hope.

Limbo, Sally, Stevie Atkins and Nicholas Fenn race towards the door of the Mayford house. It is locked however and Sally screams for Aidan and Josh. This is the latest in a long series of attempts to escape Limbo and Stevie and Nick are ready to give up. Sally turns around, but her fellow ghosts have disappeared.

At the Suffolk County Hospital, Josh sees a vampire being wheeled in on a gurney. He is a victim of a new strain of influenza that has been striking the vampire community. He has lesions all across his face. Josh asks him if he knows about Aidan. Though the vampire is familiar with him, he does not know where he is.

Flashback: Shortly after killing Ray, Nora and Josh wait until the next full moon to see if they are cured. Josh paces about in the storage unit until enough time passes. Elated to see that he has not transformed, he goes to free Nora, but she is still a werewolf.

Josh and Nora see Ilana hanging out front of their house. He recognizes her as the woman who once tried to exorcise Sally. They confront her, but Ilana is nervous and says that there is too much dark energy circulating about this building. They explain their situation, but she cannot help them. Instead, she refers them to a witch named Donna Gilchrist. In Limbo, Nicholas suffers through another death echo of drowning in a lake. Sally rescues him. She then saves Stevie from a similar echo, in which he is hanging from a tree in front of his parents' home. He comments that this is not even how he originally died.

A man named Mickey Dorrin finds the patch of ground where Aidan is buried. He digs him up and upon seeing that he is too weak to take any action, places a metal restraint mask on him. He pulls him up out of the ground.

Josh and Nora go to the Miller Avenue Community Kitchen where they meet Donna Gilchrist. They explain that they need to retrieve Sally Malik's soul from Limbo, and Donna tells them that she has the power to accomplish this, but it comes with a high cost. In addition to her fee of $2,000 (which Josh chokes at), the spell requires the heart of a human that Josh has killed. Josh repeats the demand out loud in astonishment, commenting about "some guy I killed". Donna takes note of Josh's vaguely implied confession. When Josh balks at the notion of Donna's capabilities, she spoons him a ladle filled with soup and maggots. Josh recoils and Donna comments, "Knees soft, right?" Aidan awakens in a dark and dirty room. There are IV bags filled with blood hanging from the walls. Mickey comes in and begins draining more of Aidan's blood. He tells him that other vampires will pay highly for it because it is "pure". Aidan has no idea what Mickey is talking about.

Josh and Nora go out to the woods and dig up Ray. Josh withdraws a knife and Nora wonders if the experience is becoming too much for him. Frustrated, he exclaims "I can't do this". The breast plate is too thick. He drops the knife in favor of a bone saw. They bring the heart back to Donna, but it is hardly fresh looking. Donna tells them that the heart is the most important part of the ritual, because it connects spiritual life lines. Now she needs to make a salve for "the body". Josh and Nora stare skeptically at the implication until Donna reveals that they are not just trying to restore Sally's soul - they are going to bring her back from the dead.

Meanwhile, the vampire Atlee comes to Mickey's place. Guarding himself with a stake, Mickey tells him that he is willing to sell Aidan to him, but at a very high cost. Atlee attacks him and impales him with his own stake. As he comes into the light, he has lesions upon his face and is apparently suffering the same symptoms as the vampire from the hospital. He frees Aidan who then scrambles to drink Mickey's blood. Atlee stops him and tells him that it is too dangerous. He puts the weak and delusional Aidan into his car and explains that a strain of human flu has spread across the world. Although a vaccine has been administered for humans, it is lethal to any vampire who drinks from an infected person. Death comes within two to three days.

Josh and Nora go to the cemetery. Josh bribes the caretaker to let them in whereupon they dig up Sally Malik's remains. Josh remains steadfast in his goal to bring Sally back, but Nora questions, "As what?"

In Atlee's car, Aidan continues to hallucinate. He believes that Josh, Sally and even his former mentor Bishop are in the car with him. Atlee believes that Aidan's blood may hold the key towards a cure. He has been instructed to bring him back to the others where they will all feast upon him. Looking at him however, Atlee determines that Aidan is too scrawny to feed the entire pack and bites him himself. The result is very unexpected however. Rather than curing him, Aidan's blood causes Atlee to dissolve into dust. The car skids off the road into a tree.

Donna Gilchrist performs the ritual over Sally's mummified remains. After doing so, she lets Josh and Nora have her body, but warns them, that Sally is to have absolutely no connection to her previous life. It may take some time before they see any results.

In Limbo, Sally, Stevie and Nick approach the door once again. This time however, it opens. Sally steps through it and Stevie and Nicholas follow her. In the real world, her body begins to breathe. Josh and Nora remove her dressings revealing a revitalized and living Sally Malik. She whispers hoarsely that Stevie and Nick have come back with her.

Donna Gilchrist goes out to the woods. She has a vial of blood that she pours all across the ground. The blood trails off in different directions and seeps into the earth. The ground opens up revealing the remains of someone buried beneath.

On the road, Aidan lies on the ground in front of the ruined car. His body begins convulsing.

(Dead) Girls Just Wanna Have Fun[]

A man named Liam McLean goes to a farmhouse during the day occupied by virus-stricken Dutch vampires. He asks them about his son, Connor, and the vampires step aside, revealing Connor's werewolf head nailed to a wall with steel ingots. Liam flies into a rage and dusts all of the vampires with a wooden stake. He vows revenge against the one who killed his son.

Back at the brownstone, Sally Malik is alive and well as are Stevie Atkins and Nicholas Fenn, who have recently returned from the dead in the same manner that Sally was resurrected. Zoe Gonzales comes by to reunite with Nick and everyone is happy. Nick and Zoe leave, and Stevie says that he wants to go out and see the world. Josh Levinson gives him some money to get by.

Josh receives a telephone call from Aidan and is shocked and elated to find that he is still among the unliving. Sally and he drive to pick him up from a telephone booth. Sally hugs him, surprising Aidan with the fact that she is alive again. However, when he learns that her resurrection is the result of blood magic, he casts a wary eye towards Josh. He also notes that Josh doesn't "smell like dog anymore", and Josh tells him about recent events with Nora and Ray.

With the gang all back together, Josh wants to celebrate by cooking a big meal. However, Sally has no intention of staying inside and wants to go out and party. Nora has to go to her storage shed as it is a full moon tonight. Sally borrows some of Nora's clothes to go out in, including her favorite bra. Aidan is still weak from lack of blood and excuses himself from the gang. Josh, as always, grows concerned over Aidan's well-being.

Liam goes to Suffolk County Hospital looking for Nora. He knows of Nora's past association with his daughter, Brynn, and hopes that Nora can provide him with some answers as to Brynn's current whereabouts, and about what happened to Connor. Nora is not at work and the hospital staff refuses to give him any personal information.

Aidan goes to Tracy, a blood donor whom he has used in the past. She warns him that she had the flu and that her blood would kill him if he drank it. She gives him a reference to find a street hook-up however. Aidan meets some shady characters in an alley, who sell him baby blood. A group of werewolves (in human form) come upon them and begin beating Aidan up. It was a trap. Tracy had set Aidan up and has now thrown in with the wolves. Fortunately, Aidan's progeny, Henry Durham arrives and saves Aidan's bacon.

Josh takes Sally out to a trendy restaurant where she is having the time of her life. A man named Trent Harris recognizes Sally and is shocked to see her alive and well. Josh grows nervous, recalling Donna Gilchrist's warning about severing all connections with people from her past life. Sally makes up a story about how her fiancé, Danny Angeli, was jealous, obsessive and violent and that she had to fake her own death to get away from him. Josh tries to pry the two apart, but Sally isn't having it. Moreover, she wants to bring Trent back to the brownstone with her.

Meanwhile, Henry takes Aidan back to his place where he introduces him to his girlfriend, Emma. He warns Aidan about buying blood off the black market. He tells him that Emma is clean and that he can feed off her for the night.

Liam McClean manages to track down Nora at her storage facility. He tells her about Connor and she expresses her condolences. He then asks about Brynn and seals the door behind him. Nora says she hasn't spoken to Brynn in quite some time and has no idea where she is. Liam doesn't know if he can trust her, and says they will change together. His wolf will be able to sniff out whether or not she is trustworthy.

Back at the restaurant, Josh gets a drink at the bar. He considers proposing to Nora Sargeant, and looks at the ring in his hand. The bartender makes a comment and Josh experiences a vivid sensation of transforming into the wolf and mauling her.

Aidan sits in Henry's bedroom with Emma. She plaintively offers her blood to him, but complains about how warm and cloistered it is in the room. Aidan notices bars across the windows and realizes that Henry has been keeping her enslaved inside the house, never allowing her to even go outside. He also notices scars upon her arms from where she attempted to take her own life. Emma begins to act hysterical until Henry comes in and mesmerizes her into calming down.

Sally brings Trent back to the brownstone and invites him inside. Trent politely turns her down, but promises to take her out on a date the following evening. Sally accepts and goes back inside. She talks with Aidan who has recently returned home from Henry's place. He looks weak from lack of blood. Sally offers him her wrist, but Aidan declines, citing that drinking blood from someone so recently reanimated would be akin to drinking vampire blood. An awkward sexual tension broils between the two of them.

The following morning, Josh tells Sally that he is going to unlock Nora and propose to her. Sally warns him against it, saying that no woman wants to be proposed to at the crack of dawn after when they are naked, tired and smeared in their own feces. Suddenly, they hear sirens from outside. When they go to investigate, they see paramedics zipping Trent Harris into a body bag. They both grow scared until Josh determines that this is why Sally was warned against seeing anybody from their past. They die.

Meanwhile, Henry cannot find Emma. He runs outside his home and finds Aidan leaning up against a wall in an alley. Aidan tells him that he let her go. Henry flies into a rage and punches Aidan several times. Desperation begins to cross his face as he expresses how without Emma, they will both likely die. Aidan tries to convince Henry that he is better than this; that they are both survivors, but Henry isn't buying it.

Later, Josh goes to the storage unit to free Nora only to find the door completely shredded. There is no sign of Nora anywhere.

The Teens, They Are a Changin'[]

Early in the morning, Nora is sitting in the park with Liam McLean. He continues to probe her for questions concerning his children, but she doesn't give up what she knows concerning Connor's death. Nora is polite and it seems that Liam is beginning to trust her. She goes home and tells Josh about Connor and Brynn's father, saying that he is looking for answers.

Three weeks later, Aidan is sitting at an outdoor chess table with an older black man named Theo. The two appear to be friends. After their game concludes, Aidan offers to buy Theo lunch. He lures him into a back alley where Henry appears. Henry begins to compel him, but Theo, recognizing he is a vampire, sneezes on him. Disgusted, Henry tells him to run away.

Aidan comes back to the brownstone. He takes Josh aside and tells him that finding clean blood has become extremely difficult. Ashamed, he asks Josh to screen recently admitted patients at the hospital for clean blood. Josh doesn't like being put into this position - particularly given his predisposition against Henry. Secretly, he decides to do what Aidan asks, but keeps it a secret from Nora.

Sally goes to the Howell & Holt Funeral Home. She sneaks into the preparation room where Trent Harris' body is lying on a table. Trent's ghost is present. Sally addresses him and confesses that she is the reason that Trent is dead. Harris does not take this revelation very well and Sally apologizes again, swearing that she is going to help him find peace.

At the Suffolk County Hospital, a young troubled teen named Erin Shepherd is sitting in the waiting room. She is arguing with another patient about changing the channel on the television. Josh spies her and brings her into a room. Erin describes a nasty scratch that she has on her side after being attacked by a large, mangy dog near the railroad tracks. When Josh sees the large scratches on her side, he immediately suspects the worse. He finds Nora and describes Erin's wound. They both agree that Erin was scratched by a werewolf and that she will go through her first change in less than two nights. Josh wants to tell her, but Nora convinces him to wait, feeling that Erin deserves one day of a warm bed and food and just a small opportunity to feel normal before her life is turned upside down. Things continue to grow intense for the two starving vampires. Aidan has yet to come up with a reliable source of blood. He prevents Henry from snatching a young woman off the street. Henry rails at Aidan for letting his previous blood source, Emma, go free, noting how much he liked her and that it was a perfect arrangement.

Back at the hospital, a case worker from DCF comes in and wants to take Erin back to her group home. Josh and Nora cannot allow this to happen. The case worker reveals that Erin has been kicked out of twenty-seven homes in the past two years. At her last home, she stole three-hundred dollars and slapped the owner's grandson. Nora pulls rank and tells the case worker that a notation on Erin's chart will stop her from trying to pull the girl out of the hospital. The woman gives up and leaves. Afterward, Josh and Nora decide to bring Erin back to the house after their shifts have ended. From her hospital bed, Erin hears everything.

Outside of the funeral home, Sally talks to Trent. She tells him about finding his door, but Trent already knows about, stating that you cannot hang around a funeral home without hearing a multitude of ghosts blathering on about "their door". She tells him that his spirit is lingering behind because he has some unresolved issue. Trent reveals that he is engaged to a woman named Candace, and he should have been home with her rather than making out with Sally.

At the hospital, Josh finds Henry poking about looking for potential targets. The two get into an argument with one another and Henry accuses Josh of caring nothing for Aidan. Josh doesn't back down and tells Henry that he has never given up on Aidan. Henry turns to leave, but the scent of blood from all of the open wounds in the hospital corridor overwhelms him.

Josh goes outside where he finds Aidan. He tells him that Henry is unhinged. Aidan apologizes. Josh gives him the address of a cable installer from Somerville named Mister Walsh. He was pre-screened as having clean blood. Josh warns Aidan about going too far and doesn't want to regret helping him. Aidan tries to assure him that everything will be fine. "Catch and release", he says.

Sally goes to Trent's memorial service, but makes certain to remain in a separate room so that she does not inadvertently run into anyone from her past. She convinces the funeral director, Max, to have Trent's fiancée, Candace, brought out to her. Max isn't quite sure why he is even agreeing to help her. Candace comes out and Sally tells her that she is an old friend of Trent's named "Samantha". She tells her that Trent's spirit needs to clear its conscious and even reveals that she had made out with him. Candace begins crying and confesses that she has been cheating on Trent for over a year. Trent's ghost is listening in and is more than a little surprised by this revelation. Candace says that if Trent was unfaithful as well, then perhaps he knew that they were both wrong for one another and this helps to wash away some of her sense of guilt. In the end, she thanks Sally for coming to her.

Meanwhile, Josh and Nora bring Erin back to the house. Nora tries to delicately explain to her how different her life will soon become, but Josh blatantly blurts out, "You're a werewolf". Erin naturally doesn't believe them until Josh puts on a videotape of one of his transformations from the storage unit. Erin begins freaking out, but Nora calms her down, telling her that they will help her through this. She says that the full moon will rise on the following evening, and she will become a werewolf at that time.

The following day, Henry goes to attack someone and Aidan once again stops him. Henry is growing desperate and is starving. Aidan notices dark lesions appearing on his throat. Henry admits that he had a moment of weakness and that he drank some tainted blood from a hospital patient. Aidan brings Henry inside a house. He continues to tell him that they can make it through this, but Henry has no faith in Aidan's claims any longer. Aidan watches over him as Henry tries to sleep, but the lesions grow worse and his entire face takes on a dark pallor.

Back at the funeral home, Trent argues with Sally some more. He thought that by resolving the matter between Candace and he that his door would appear, but it has not. Sally asks him if there are perhaps more unresolved issues in his life. He tells her that the best way for her to help him is to stay out of his life. He then teleports away. Max comes into the room and thanks Sally for speaking with Candace. He was impressed by how she was able to bring comfort to a grieving loved one in a way that he never could

That evening, Josh and Nora bring Erin out into the woods. Nora notices that Josh has a handgun shoved in the back of his pants. She is not happy about this, but Josh needs something to defend himself. There is no way of knowing what kind of wolf Erin will turn into. Nora isn't pleased, but lets the matter slide. She brings Erin out into the woods where they begin to undress. She talks calmly, reminding her that it will all be over soon. Erin shifts very quickly and sooner than Nora expected her. From his car by the road, Josh hears Nora scream out his name. Erin's wolf pounces on the hood of his car and cracks the windshield. Josh scrambles for his gun, but Nora's wolf lunges from the darkness and tackles Erin. The two roll about in the leaves then face off with one another. Josh gets out of the car and keeps his gun trained on both of them. The younger wolf however, backs down allowing Nora's wolf to maintain dominance. The two animals begin nuzzling at one another. Later that evening, Aidan and Henry sit outside of the stoop of a dentist's office. Henry has completely lost all hope. He says "We are monsters to them...", meaning humans, "... and that's all that we will ever be". He punctuates his point by saying "I am a vampire, Aidan. And so are you." With that, he gets up and walks away. After everyone leaves the funeral home, Trent sees his door appear before him. Ready to move on, he enters the door, but it does not take him into the afterlife. Mysteriously, it brings him to the Miller Avenue Community Kitchen where witch Donna Gilchrist is waiting for him. She smiles, then picks up a meat cleaver and shreds Trent's spirit, reducing his essence to nothing but a pile of ash. Donna scoops up the ashes and eats them, upon which she begins to grow younger.

I'm So Lonesome I Could Die[]

It is 3:00 am and Josh and Nora are sleeping in bed at the brownstone. Suddenly, the house comes alive with the sounds of loud music and people yelling. Josh runs downstairs where he finds Aidan dancing and carousing as the host of a co-ed fraternity party. He spies Erin down there as well and shoos her back to her room. He takes Aidan aside and tries to get him to talk about the recent loss of Henry, but Aidan is too busy "living in the moment". Sally comes downstairs and after quickly scanning the crowd to make sure she doesn't recognize anybody, decides to dance with Aidan. Come sunrise, the party has ended and everyone has gone home.

Nora gets up again and prepares to leave for work. She asks Josh if he could watch Erin for the evening as she has an engagement with her family to honor her mother's birthday. Josh is bothered by the fact that Nora and he have been dating for a year and he has yet to meet her parents. After Nora leaves, Josh has a talk with Aidan. He tells him his intent to ask Nora to marry him. Aidan gives him some courtship advice, such as asking her father's permission. Josh gives Aidan the address of a patient with clean blood that Aidan can feed off of. Aidan thanks him, but dismisses the information, saying that he doesn't need Josh's help pre-screening patients any longer. This makes Josh think that Aidan has stopped worrying about whether he might be consuming infected blood or not.

Following a very intense nightmare, Sally Malik decides to sit with Erin while Josh goes out. Erin probes her about the fact that she is a recently resurrected ghost and Sally realizes that the only way to avoid the curse attached to her new life is to forge a new identity and leave Boston.

Josh goes to meet Nora at the hospital on her lunch break. He tells her that he wants to go with her to meet her family. Nora doesn't care for this idea at all and indicates that her family can be really tough. Josh doesn't care. He wants to know every facet of Nora's life, including her perceived dysfunctional family.

That evening, Aidan invites Sally to go out with him for a good time. Sally is afraid to go anywhere where she might encounter people that she knows. He decides to bring her to Roscoe's - a biker bar that no one from Sally's past would ever be caught dead in. Sally instantly falls in love with the over-sized margarita glasses. She asks Aidan what vampires do when they need to reset their identity. He tells her that they usually steal social security numbers from deceased infants since nobody ever checks up on them. Sally puts some Swing music on the jukebox for the "grandpa" vampire and the two begin dancing. Aidan's concentration however is locked onto a burly tattooed man at the bar. Aidan grows thirsty.

Josh and Nora drive to see her family. As Aidan and Sally are both out, they have to bring Erin along with them. Before entering the house, Nora buttons up Josh's shirt, hiding his Star of David necklace. Understanding what she is doing, Josh queries, "Really?” They enter the house where they first meet Nora's younger brother R.J. and her father Robert, who sits in a chair watching a football game with a beer. He says nothing and barely even acknowledges their presence. Nora's mother comes out to greet them and Nora introduces her to Josh and Erin.

At Roscoe's, Aidan continues to party it up. He buys everyone in the place a shot and offers up a toast, "To life". Sally continues to worry about Aidan's method of processing Henry's death.

At the Sargeant residence, Nora talks with her mom. She mentions her ex-boyfriend Will and Josh discovers that her family doesn't know that Will put Nora in the hospital. He confronts her on the matter and Nora confesses that she deliberately kept them out of the loop. Josh tries to remind her that she is not responsible for what she does as the wolf. At this point, Nora confesses that she also killed Brynn McLean. Josh is shocked. She says that it was in self-defense after Brynn attacked her.

Back at the bar, Aidan notices the large biker he had been eying earlier leaving. He follows him outside and drinks his blood. Sally chases after him and finds the man bleeding on the ground. She calls the paramedics and follows Aidan back to the house. She yells at him for his recklessness and the fact that he is not even screening his victims anymore. Aidan dismisses her and says "I rolled the dice" and it becomes clear that Aidan has a death wish.

Meanwhile, Josh finds a moment to catch Mister Sargeant, and he asks his permission to marry Nora. Robert seems very disinterested in anything other than sitting and drinking beer. In his own way however, he gives Josh his blessing. After the awkward family get-together, the three of them leave.

Sally confronts Aidan in his bedroom. She holds a stake to his chest and tells him that if he is so quick to end his life, then she could help him along right here and right now. The tough love approach seems to work, and Aidan decides that he needs to get out of his funk. The following day, Aidan decides to try to get his job back at the hospital.

That morning, R.J. stops by the house to see his sister. He congratulates her on her engagement, but Nora tells him that Josh never proposed. She takes note of the fact that her brother is slightly inebriated and he's holding a half-empty case of beer. She goes to the store to get some coffee to sober him up. While she's gone, R.J. takes an interest in Erin.

Josh returns home and finds R.J. and Erin up in her room making out. As R.J. is considerably older than Erin is, Josh loses his cool. He pulls the twenty-something off her and the two begin fighting. Nora returns and races upstairs when she hears the scuffle. Erin lies and says that Josh started the fight. Nora kicks R.J. out of the house. Afterward, she talks to Josh. She doesn't mention that she knows about the marriage proposal, but she makes a few vague allusions about not wanting to enter into any major lifestyle changes.

Meanwhile, Sally goes to the Howell & Holt Funeral Home. She breaks into Max's office and begins going through the files of infants who had died. Maxcatches her and Sally tells him that she needs to change her identity. As crazy as the whole situation seems, Max believes her. Instead of helping her set up a new identity however, he offers her a job.

That night, Aidan starts his first shift back at the hospital. The attending nurse shows him a patient named Kenny who is in an isolated room where he suffers from "Bubble Boy" disease. She says that if a single germ gets into the room he could die. Aidan realizes that Kenny's blood would be absolutely clean.

Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Mouth[]

Aidan Waite has gone a long time without clean blood and it is beginning to have an adverse effect on his psyche. He suffers from nightmares where he is haunted by Beth and Holly - two humans he was forced to kill some time ago when he was attempting to help Henry. The doorbell rings and Aidan answers it. It is Kat Neely, a friend of Nora's who is subletting her apartment. She hands Aidan a check for the rent, but the starving vampire acts flighty and quickly ducks back inside the house.

Come evening, Aidan starts the night shift at the hospital. He checks in on Kenny who is in an isolation room. The images of Beth and Holly continue to haunt Aidan. Kenny is enjoying some classic horror movies and wants Aidan to join him, but he has too much on his plate, including taking an unscheduled blood sample from Kenny for "bacterial cultures".

After his shift ends, Aidan (having consumed a phial of Kenny's blood) begins walking home. A group of purebred werewolves jump him. Aidan is feeling strong now, and easily dispatches them. In the shadows, Liam watches them with a small measure of surprise.

The next morning, Nurse Kerwin comes in to take a blood sample from Kenny. He doesn't understand why there's another test so soon. "What's up with the double-dipping", he says. When Aidan comes back on for his shift, Kenny begins acting very inquisitive. He wants to take Aidan's picture and has him stand before the open window, and after that, in front of a mirror. Aidan fears that Kenny may suspect the truth about him. The next night, he asks Aidan outright if he is a vampire. Aidan tries to laugh it off, insinuating that all of Kenny's late night horror movie viewing is igniting his imagination.

Aidan succumbs to another delusion in which he has a confrontation with the floor nurse, Kerwin. Kerwin knows that he is stealing blood from Kenny and threatens to report him. Aidan snaps her neck then drinks her blood while the images of Beth and Holly look on and laugh. Aidan snaps out if it, but the stress makes him reveal his vampire features. Kenny sees it all and now realizes that he was right all along about Aidan.

At the Suffolk County Hospital, Nora introduces Liam McLean to Josh, explaining that he is Connor and Brynn's father. Liam asks Josh about two checks that Connor had made out to him. Josh explains that it was for research into controlling the lycanthropy condition that he previously suffered from. He wanted to cure the transformation into a werewolf whereas Connor and Brynn wanted to prolong it.

Liam approaches them outside the brownstone the following day. He explains that werewolves are making a strong move against the vampire population, taking advantage of the recent virus to wipe them all out. He notes that he spotted Aidan, who is remarkably healthy and well-fed. He addresses Nora directly and tells her to kill Aidan. If she fails in this, then he will have to take care of them. When they have a moment in private, Josh expresses his shock over the very notion of killing his best friend. His surprise only increases when he notices Nora's hesitation - as if she is actually considering Liam's request. She tells Josh how terrified she is of Liam. Josh is disgusted by Nora's attitude at the very thought of killing Aidan and leaves.

Josh goes to Liam's apartment armed with a gun. He warns him that neither he nor Nora are going to kill Aidan. He tells him that Aidan has been informed of his plans and that is not a man to be underestimated. Liam counters with his own warning; that Josh should leave... now.

In an unexpected turn of events, Liam shows an act of good will by bringing Erin Shepherd (who had gone missing) back to the brownstone. He tells Josh and Nora that he found her squatting with some unsavory types who tried to steal his car. He further tells Josh that it was very stupid of him to come after him with a gun, but also very brave. Josh doesn't know what to make of him.

Sally begins her first day working at the funeral home. Her boss Max is nice, but somewhat anxiety-ridden. While showing Sally how he massages a corpse, the ghost of the decedent rises and begins talking to Sally. He follows her into a back room, but Sally has no patience for ghosts at this time and disperses him with a tire iron.

After work, she tells Max that her friends Zoe and Nick are coming over to her place, and she doesn't want to feel like a third wheel. She invites Max to be her date for the evening and Max agrees. After he leave the room, the ghost of Max's mother, Linda, appears before Sally. She is very protective of her son and wants Sally to be careful around him. Sally feigns politeness, but the woman's presence makes her feel uncomfortable.

That night, Sally, Max, Zoe and Nick are all having a good time over food and glasses of wine. Linda materializes and makes a couple of rude remarks, which are overheard by all except for Max. Sally gestures for Linda to follow her into the kitchen where she demands an explanation. Linda tells her that she goes on all of Max's dates with him. Sally wants to have a nice, private evening with her friends. Linda gets the hint and "whooshes" away. As the night draws to a close, Sally leans in to give Max a kiss, but he nervously recoils, unsure of how to act. He hurriedly leaves the house.

The next day back at the funeral home, Max apologizes for failing to kiss her. It is clear that he is a very socially inept individual. He wants to give things another go. Sally leans in again and they begin kissing. Their passion ignites further and they wind up having sex in the viewing room. Immediately afterward, Max feels guilty and embarrassed for having sex at his place of business. He quickly dresses and goes back to his office. Linda's ghost appears again and admonishes Sally, calling her a slut. She warns her to stay away from her son.

Linda is not finished with Sally by a long shot. She takes possession of her and has a talk with Max. She tells him that she is quitting her job and that she can do better - referring to both the job and him. Later, when Sally awakens in her bed, Linda tells her what she did. Sally remembers nothing of what happened while she was possessed.

The next day, Sally goes to Zoe to vent her frustration over Linda's interference. Zoe gives her a soul lock - which is an oriental medallion that guards the body against invading spirits. Armed with this new defense, Sally goes to confront Linda. She lays down a salt barrier in the viewing room at the funeral home and waits for Linda to show. The ghost appears and tries to possess Sally, but is repulsed by the soul lock. Sally begins a ritual of exorcism, but Linda breaks down crying, claiming that she is only looking to protect her son. Sally decides to find Max and makes things right between them.

What's Blood Got to Do With It?[]

Sally has Max over at the house and he cooks her French toast. Their romantic interlude is made slightly awkward with the presence of Josh and Aidan. Aidan winges about how long Erin has been in the shower. Erin eventually comes downstairs, takes Aidan's food then sprays whipped cream directly into her mouth. Afterward, she tells them that the drain in in the shower is clogged up.

The doorbell rings and Sally nearly answers it before realizing that it is her brother, Robbie. Sally begins to panic and Josh and Aidan intercept him. Robbie tells them that his father has made him the landlord of the house and that he felt it was only proper to introduce himself. Sally listens behind the door, but she is terrified that any chance encounter with her brother might result in his death. Robbie tells them that he will return later to fix up some of the things in the house.

Aidan goes to work and makes excuses for his absence the last few days. Kenny gets right to the point and asks Aidan about being a vampire. Aidan scoffs and continues to act as if Kenny is just imagining things, but the boy knows the truth. He realizes that Kenny is not going to let this go.

Josh tries fixing things up around the house in the hopes that it will limit the amount of time that Robbie might be hanging out at should he return. He hears a noise in the basement and finds Erin skulking about. Erin is pondering where she will go when the next full moon rises, and Josh tells her that he will get her a storage unit next to Nora's. Erin does not care for this at all and the two begin snapping at one another.

At the funeral home, Max presses Sally about her issue with her brother and realizes that she is holding on to several secrets. Moreover, he is bothered by the fact that she seems comfortable sharing her baggage with Aidan and Josh, but not with him. Sally asks him to be a little patient with her, insuring him that things will get better.

At the hospital, Kenny offers Aidan a sample of his blood. Aidan stops keeping up the pretense of being anything other than a vampire. The boy asks him how he came to be this way, and Aidan says he didn't have a choice. He reflects upon the time when he was a colonial soldier during the American revolution. He encountered another soldier and was horrified to discover that he was a vampire. This was James Bishop. Aidan tried fighting him, but could not overpower the stronger opponent. Bishop offered to turn him into a vampire, but Aidan turned him down. However, Aidan agreed to accept Bishop's offer if it insured the continued survival of his men. Aidan's first victim, was one of his own men - a young soldier named Benjamin.

While on her way home from work, Sally inadvertently runs into Robbie outside the house. Robbie is shocked to see her still alive, and Sally is lost for words. She backpedals away from him, repeatedly saying, "I love you". She tells Josh about what had happened, and they decide that they need to get some help from Donna Gilchrist to resolve this.

Sally and Josh go to the Miller Avenue Community Kitchen. Though it is late at night, Donna Gilchrist is still working. Sally asks her to reverse the curse that kills everyone she encounters from her past, but Donna tells her the spell is binding. Desperate, Sally picks up a knife, but Gilchrist uses her magic to send Sally and Josh flying against the wall. Donna eventually lets them down. She says there is one way to help her. She can conduct a spell that will lift the prohibitions behind her resurrection, but in exchange, Donna wants her soul. Sally agrees with the deal.

The next day, Sally meets her brother outside the house. Robbie is actually living out of his van. The notion that he is a landlord was a money scam. His father doesn't even know where he is. Robbie turns the conversation around, asking why Sally's still alive. She maintains the idea that she had faked her own death. Robbie says that he is leaving Boston to pursue some plan that he has going on in Florida. Sally gives him sixty dollars and a big hug.

At the hospital, Kenny asks Aidan to turn him into a vampire. Aidan does his level best to point out all of the reasons as to why that would be a terrible idea. He warns him that he would have to leave behind everyone he ever loved forever. Kenny retorts by saying that come next year when he turns eighteen, he is going to walk out of that hospital - even if it kills him.

Sally goes to back to work and has a heart to heart with Max. She apologizes for how elusive she's been of late, and promises that she fixed everything. Max is a little cold towards her, but accepts her apology, and even volunteers to take her to a discotheque (providing such an animal even exists anymore). Failing that however, he at least agrees to take her out to breakfast.

Meanwhile, Erin conspires with Liam McLean. Liam is determined to kill Aidan. At Liam's urging, Erin takes some of her own werewolf contaminated blood and mixes it with Aidan's food supply. When Aidan returns home and takes a phial of blood out of the refrigerator, Erin secretly watches him drink it. Aidan begins to convulse uncontrollably and Erin pounces upon him, holding a sharpened wooden table leg above his heart.

For Those About to Rot[]

Josh Levinson meditates with Pete, but quickly grows frustrated, claiming that his "stupid wolf" hates him. Pete offers him a cookie.

Flashback: 18th century; Aidan Waite and his wife Susanna lament the loss of their child, who tragically dies in childbirth.

In the present, Aidan returns to the brownstone, clearly frustrated. Sally Malik takes note of this and tells him that he is "backed up" and needs to get laid. Aidan, slightly embarrassed, insists that he is not "backed up".

Sally suddenly gets a frantic call from Zoe Gonzales. She goes to see her and finds that she was forced to kill Nick Fenn after he attacked her and tried to eat her. Nick's ghost appears and forgives Zoe for killing him. He also warns her to stay away from Sally, cryptically stating that she will try to kill her as well. Nick's door appears and Sally notices an odd-looking sea shell upon it. Nick walks through his door into the light.

Sally calls Josh to help her dispose of Nick's remains. Josh is bothered by how "unremarkable" it has become to dispose of a body. Sally suddenly realizes that Stevie Atkins is still out there, and is likely unaware of the flesh-eating side-effect of being a reanimate. They decide that they need to find Stevie as quickly as possible before the hunger overtakes him.

Flashback: 18th century; Reverend Herring conducts mass at the local Corwich church. During his sermon, he publicly addresses Aidan and Susanna's recent tragedy and uses it as a rallying point for parishioners to reaffirm their faith. Aidan does not take kindly to having his personal torments used for personal gain.

In the present, Aidan goes on a second date with Kat Neely. Kat brings him to the rare books archive of a local library where she shows him an interesting book called Days on the Charles, written by Edmund Waite of Corwich, Massachusetts. Aidan tells Kat that Edmund was an ancestor of his (in truth, he was his father). Their discussion is interrupted by the appearance of Kat's ex-boyfriend, Jeff Westin and his new girlfriend Marissa. Jeff is several years older than Kat and the scene quickly becomes uncomfortable. After they leave, Kat mentions how she has a thing for older guys, which inwardly amuses Aidan given his own advanced age.

Sally and Josh go to Stevie Atkins house to warn his parents, but as it turns out, Stevie is home. He tells them that everything is great and that his parents are off at their lake house. The truth soon comes out however.

Meanwhile, Aidan and Kat go back to her place to finish their date. After several glasses of wine, Kat tells Aidan about her past with Jeff Westin. She tells him that they broke up because she wanted a family and Jeff already had two children from a previous marriage and didn't want any additional responsibility. Aidan tells Kat that he cannot have children. Their date concludes rather awkwardly, and Aidan thinks that it is time he should move on. At the last minute however, he decides to forego his misgivings and the two share an embrace.

Flashback: 18th century; Several weeks have passed and Reverend Herring comes to Aidan's house to inquire as to why Susanna and he has not been to church. Bristling with resentment, Aidan tells Herring how he did not appreciate him using their personal loss on his pulpit. Herring tells Aidan that God wanted their child to die and receives a bunch in the jaw in response. Aidan kicks him out of his home, barking at him to never return.

Back at Stevie's house, Josh goes into the kitchen and finds a severed arm in the bread bin. He confronts Stevie about it and the boy finally tells them the truth. Stevie couldn't resist returning home and his parents were overjoyed to see him. However, as per the curse forbidding contact with anyone from their breathing days, they died the following morning. The flesh-eating aspect of the curse quickly took control of him and he ate them. The arm in the bread bin however, actually belongs to a US postal worker who came to the house to drop off a package.

Stevie cannot live like this anymore and asks Josh to kill him. Sally hasn't given up hope, but Josh understands that this is the only way Stevie can find peace. He follows him out to the garage and puts the boy out of his misery. Stevie's ghost door appears before him, but Sally notices that it is the exact same door that appeared in front of Nick, complete with the strange little sea shell decoration. She suspects something is wrong and beckons for Stevie to wait, but it is too late. Stevie steps through the door.

Elsewhere, a group of vampires, having learned that werewolf blood is proof against the virus, track down Pete to his trailer. They break inside and attack him en masse, drinking him dry. Josh arrives and tries to help, but he is too late. Pete is dead and the vampires disappear.

Flashback: 18th century; Some time has passed and Aidan and Susanna make a second attempt to have a child. Aidan prays to God for his child to survive and his prayers are seemingly answered. Susanna gives birth to a healthy baby boy, whom they name Isaac.

Back in the present, Aidan awakens after having fallen asleep in a pile of garbage in an alleyway. He has recently fed, but seemingly has no memory of what he was doing. As he stumbles away, he fails to notice the body of Jeff Westin lying on the ground just around the corner.

If I Only Had Raw Brain[]

At the Suffolk County Hospital, Josh Levinson gets into a private argument with Aidan Waite. Josh is furious that Aidan's vampire brethren learned the truth about inoculating themselves with werewolf blood and as a result, Josh's mentor, Pete, is now dead. Aidan feels horrible and apologizes, but reminds Josh that he told the vampires that it was unnecessary to kill in order to get what they needed. Josh seems to care very little about that.

Leaving the uncomfortable conversation, Aidan goes to see the teenager Kenny in the isolation ward. Kenny tells Aidan that a match for a blood donor has been found, but that he doesn't want it. Aidan encourages him to accept the offer, but Kenny has no confidence in that it will even work. He suspects that Aidan is trying to back out of their deal to turn him into a vampire. To prove that he is one to keep his promises, Aidan breaks Kenny out of the hospital and takes him to the park. He smiles as he watches Kenny enjoying himself playing with a dog. Kenny asks him if he can have just one day as a normal human teenager before he becomes a "Lord of the Night". From some distance away, a mysterious hooded man watches them with great interest. Aidan brings Kenny back to the brownstone and introduces him to Josh and Nora. Both of them know of Kenny and are also aware that he is supposed to be kept in isolation. Aidan sends Kenny into the basement to put his stuff away, giving him time to explain to the others his decision to turn Kenny into a vampire. Josh feels that he is being completely irresponsible. In a surprising turn of support, Nora backs Aidan's decision, citing that if they have the ability to use their curse to do some good, then they should do it.

Meanwhile, the situation with Sally grows even more intense. She is literally wasting away and it is only a matter of days - perhaps even hours - before she succumbs to her rotting illness. Josh wants to put an end to this once and for all. Nora, Sally and he march down to the Miller Avenue Community Kitchen and Josh is prepared to shoot the witch responsible for Sally's condition, Donna Gilchrist. When they get to the site however, they are shocked to see that the entire building has disappeared. Hope seems lost and they all return home.

Nora talks to Josh privately in their room. She suggests that they should get married as soon as possible so that Sally can be there for the wedding.

Sally meanwhile, goes to the Howell & Holt Funeral Home to talk to Max. She reveals the truth to him about being a flesh-eater. In a mild bit of desperation, Sally asks if she could sample a little bit of the corpse of a woman named Miss Hanover. Max is offended by the notion, not so much because of the gruesomeness of the request, but that Sally would even for a moment think that he would be okay with it. "Watching the dead is my responsibility...", he tells her and he refuses to help. As tensions rise, they both admit that they are in love with one another.

Word spreads quickly about Josh and Nora's pending nuptials and Josh's younger sister, Emily, pops by the house to congratulate them. She announces that she is taking Josh out for a bachelor party and Nora thinks it's a great idea. Aidan and Kenny agree to go as well. Kenny is particularly excited when he learns they are going to a strip club. Josh however, is exceedingly uncomfortable with the idea.

Emily and the three males go to the strip club. Kenny is having the time of his life, but Josh is absolutely miserable. Kenny almost blurts out to Emily about becoming a vampire very soon, but Aidan reels him in. One of the strippers - a woman named Sadie is an old girlfriend of Emily's and she flags the stripper off the stage and pays her to give Josh a lap dance. Aidan takes note of the fact of a strange hooded man watching them from the corner of the room.

Back at the house, Sally locks herself in her room for fear that her hunger for human flesh may overwhelm her. Nora knocks on her door and asks Sally to be her maid of honor. As part of a small two-girl bachelorette party, Nora cracks open some wine coolers and penis straws.

At the strip club, Sadie brings Josh into a private booth where she begins grinding on him. Josh is nervous and uncomfortable and tries to do everything he can to escape from this embarrassing situation. His plight becomes dangerous however when Sadie reveals that she is a vampire and lunges at Josh prepared to drink his blood. Aidan appears just in time to drive a stake through Sadie's back, reducing her to dust. Unfortunately, Emily witnesses the entire thing and runs from the club in a panic. Josh follows Emily outside the club and she exclaims that she just saw Aidan murder someone right before her eyes. Josh reveals the truth that Aidan is a vampire and that Nora and he are both werewolves. Although Emily heard about Josh's werewolf obsession in the past, she never truly put any stock into it until now. She has absolutely no capacity to deal with this revelation at this time.

Aidan returns home with Kenny and tells him that it will soon be time to turn him into a vampire. Kenny is nervous, but Aidan promises that he will keep him safe.

Sally calls Aidan up to her room for a special request. The hunger is overwhelming her and she is on the edge. She wants Aidan to end her life for her. Aidan is not ready to give up hope however and comes up with a temporary solution. He allows Sally to eat a small bit of his flesh. She doesn't want to, but he insists, reminding her that he will heal. Sally chomps down on the side of his stomach and groans that it is like biting into a car tire. Aidan steels himself against the pain.

With her craving for flesh temporarily sated, Sally goes off to find the psychic Ilana Myers. She wants Ilana to help her find Donna. She tells her about the two ghost doors that appeared before Nick and Stevie and Ilana concurs that no two ghost doors can ever be the same. These doors are leading somewhere else. She gives Sally a book written in Latin and hopes that it might give her some insight into how to defeat Donna. After Sally leaves, Ilana hears a noise coming from downstairs. Suddenly, the formerly deceased werewolf Ray appears, demanding to know what exactly she told Sally. Ilana tries to exorcise him, but Ray snaps her neck.

Meanwhile, Aidan stumbles through an alley near the brownstone, still recovering from the bite wound that Sally gave him. The hooded man from the park and the club accosts him. He reveals himself to be Jeff Westin - the ex-boyfriend of Aidan's current girlfriend, Kat Neely. He is a vampire, but appears horribly disfigured. He attacks Aidan, demanding to know why he did this to him. Aidan has no choice but to fight back, staking him through the stomach and turning him to dust.
