Bellamy Young is an American television actress. She was born Amy Young in Asheville, North Carolina on February 19th, 1970. Bellamy's career in television began in 1995 with a guest spot on an episode of the soap opera series Another World as Doctor Courtney Evans. Through the late 1990s into the 2000s, she appeared on episodes of Law & Order, The Drew Carey Show, and The X-Files. Her first supporting cast role was in 2003 when she played Twyla Gentry in seven out of nine episodes of the Western series Peacemakers. She played Doctor Miller in six episodes of the medical comedy Scrubs]] in 2004. She then went on to play Assistant State Attorney Monica West on six episodes of CSI: Miami. Following that, she played Ellen Darling in the nine episodes of the New York-based drama series Dirty Sexy Money. She appeared in eight episodes of another crime drama, Criminal Minds in 2011 and 2012 playing a character named Beth Clemmons. Beginning in 2012, she landed a recurring role on Scandal as Mellie Grant, the estranged wife of U.S. President Fitzgerald Grant.
