Benton Fraser is a fictional law-enforcement officer and the main character from the joint Canadian/U.S. crime drama comedy series Due South. He was played by actor Paul Gross.

Overview[]

Benton Fraser was a constable for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. As part of a joint initiative between the Canadian and U.S. governments, Fraser was transferred to Chicago, Illinois where he worked alongside the Chicago Police Department. He was partnered with Detective David Marciano, and later, Detective Stanley Ray Kowalski. His most trusted ally however, was his white, deaf wolf dog, Diefenbaker. While helping the Chicago P.D. solve strange crimes, Fraser also worked to solve the alleged murder of his father.

Biography[]

When the tenants of Fraser's apartment building were being evicted due to a greedy new landlord, Benton Fraser rallied them together and brought their concerns to city hall, where he engaged in a prolonged filibuster to save their home. [1]
