Black Sheep Squadron was an American television series of the war drama genre. It was produced by Universal Television and Stephen J. Cannell Productions and aired on NBC for two seasons from September 1976 to April 1978, totaling thirty-seven episodes. The original title for the series was Baa Baa Black Sheep, which was changed to Black Sheep Squadron with season two. The show presented the adventures of Marine Attack Squadron 214, also known as the Black Sheep Squadron and their struggles during World War II.
The series starred Robert Conrad as Major Greg "Pappy" Boyington, Simon Oakland as Brigadier General Thomas W. Moore, Dana Elcar as Colonel Thomas A. Lard, James Whitmore, Jr. as Captain James W. "Jim" Gutterman, Dirk Blocker as Lieutenant Jerome "Jerry" Bragg, W.K. Stratton Lieutenant Lawrence T. "Larry" Casey, Robert Ginty as Lieutenant Thomas Joseph "T.J." Wylie, Joey Aresco as Sergeant John David "Hutch" Hutchinson, John Larroquette as Lieutenant Robert Anderson, Barry Manetti as Lieutenant Robert A. Boyle, Jeff MacKay as Lieutenant Donald French, Red West as Master Sergeant Andrew "Andy" Micklin, Jeb Stuart Adams as Lieutenant Jeb Pruitt and Steve Richmond as Cortal Stanley Richards (the latter two joined the cast of Black Sheep Squadron with season two).
