"The Cruise" is the thirteenth episode of season three of the police comedy series Brooklyn Nine-Nine and the fifty-fifth episode of the series overall. It was directed by Rebecca Asher with a script written by Lakshmi Sundaram. It first aired on the FOX Network on Tuesday, January 26th, 2016. In this episode, Jake asks Gina's help in picking out a Christmas gift for Charles. Boyle ends up going with them, and the three of them become hostages when a group of thugs hold up the store. Though most people would be terrified, Jake is thrilled, for now he gets to role-play his favorite action movie, Die Hard. Meanwhile, Amy Santiago tries to prove to Captain Holt and Rosa that she is not a wimp by accompanying them on a polar swim.
