The Collinsport Star
The Collinsport Star is a fictional newspaper featured in the 1966-1971 daytime Gothic soap opera Dark Shadows. A copy of the paper was briefly seen in the "The Abduction of Maggie Evans" storyline in episode 238.
The Collinsport Star was one of, if not the, provincial newspapers located in the town of Collinsport, Maine. The mysterious Collins family had a subscription to the paper and received a copy of it on their doorstep every morning. On April 26th, 1967, the evening edition of the Collinsport Star ran a front page headline detailing the disappearance of a local girl named Maggie Evans. One of the residents of Collinwood, Victoria Winters, picked up the paper and showed it to Elizabeth Collins Stoddard and her daughter Carolyn. The article contained very little information and only went so far as to describe the search efforts of the townspeople.
