Season nine of Doctor Who began airing on BBC One and BBC America on September 19th, 2015. It aired twelve regular episodes and one Christmas Special. It is the thirty-fifth season of the series combining both this program and the seasons of the original Doctor Who. It is the second season of the show to feature Peter Capaldi as the Twelfth Doctor. It is the fourth season of the show to feature Jenna Coleman as Clara Oswald, a companion to the Eleventh Doctor and the Twelfth Doctor. This season also marks Coleman's departure from the series.
