Gilligan's Planet is an American animated television series of the science fiction and comedy genres. It is a spin-off of the popular 1960s sitcom, Gilligan's Island. The series was produced by Filmation Associates and aired on CBS for a single season on Saturday mornings from September to December, 1982, spanning a total of thirteen episodes.

The cartoon brought back six of the seven original actors from Gilligan's Island to reprise their roles for the spin-off series including Bob Denver as Gilligan, Alan Hale, Jr. as the Skipper, Jim Backus as Thurston Howell, III, Natalie Schafer as Mrs. Howell, and Russell Johnson as the Professor. Actress Dawn Wells had to pull double duty as both her original character Mary Ann, as well as that of Ginger, who was played by actress Tina Louise on the original series.

The show followed the same basic premise as Gilligan's Island, but rather than being trapped on a deserted island, the castaways now find themselves stuck on an alien planet. Despite the Professor's genius intellect in putting together a space ship, the group still finds themselves suffering at the hands of fate. However, they did end up with a plucky alien sidekick critter named Bumper.
