Henry Tate is a fictional recurring character featured in the MTV supernatural drama series Teen Wolf. Played by actor Todd Stashwick, he was introduced in the winter premiere episode of season three, "Anchors".
Henry Tate is the husband of Evelyn Tate and the adoptive father of Malia Tate, as well as the biological father of a younger daughter. In 2005, the Tates were involved in a car accident that resulted in the deaths of his wife and daughter. Malia was also presumed dead, but had in fact survived, due in no small measure to the fact that she was a werecoyote. Malia spent the next eight years in coyote form wandering the forests of Beacon Hills.
When coyote sightings began taking place in 2013, Henry Tate began setting up bear traps all across the woods. He also came to Beacon Hills High School where Sheriff Stilinsky had been at the time, inquiring about the investigation into the recent animal attacks that had been taking place. Stilinsky noticed that Tate had a concealed firearm on his person and ordered him off the school grounds.
Later, Scott McCall found Malia and used his station as a werewolf Alpha to force her to back down, even going so far as to prompt her to change back into human form. Sheriff Stilinsky took Malia back home and reunited her with her father. (TW: More Bad Than Good)
