"Jack the Writer" is the fourth episode of season one of the comedy series 30 Rock. It was directed by Gail Mancuso and written by Robert Carlock. It first aired on NBC on Thursday, November 1st, 2006. In this episode, Jack expresses his desire to learn every aspect of the positions that he manages. To this end, he decides to sit in with the crew of the writers' room and help them compose their comedy sketches. Jack's presence makes the team extremely uncomfortable, especially when he insists on incorporating his own jokes into their scripts. To cause Liz even further aggravation, she finds that her staff cannot concentrate due to her assistant Cerie's penchant for wearing provocative clothing.
