Overview[]

Jesús Velásquez was the boyfriend of Lafayette Reynolds. A brujo of Mexican origin, he met his partner while being employed as a medical nurse for Lafayette's mother Ruby Jean. He discovered that Lafayette was "powerful" and carefully introduced him to witchcraft, magic and mediumship. Eventually he managed to get Lafayette to join the witch coven of Marnie Stonebrook, a friend of his.

Marnie, however, began a violent campaign against vampires, aided by the spirit of deceased witch Antonia Gavilán de Logroño. Jesús and Lafayette got themselves threatened by vampire Pam after they had been part of the crowd when Marnie had cursed both Pam and her maker. Jesús and Lafayette traveled to Mexico to consult Jesús' grandfather, who revealed to them that Lafayette was a medium. Back in Louisiana, Jesús summoned his brujo powers to force Antonia's spirit out of Marnie's body, since Marnie had gone mad with power and even killed innocent members of her own group. Marnie was then shot dead by Bill Compton, but returned as a spirit possessing Lafayette. In order to save Lafayette, Jesús complied to Marnie's wishes of transferring his brujo magic to her. In the process of the transfer, Marnie/Lafayette stabbed Jesús, killing him. [3]
