Julianne Nicholson is a film and television actress born in Medford, Massachusetts on July 1st, 1971. Her first work in scripted television was playing a character named Cara in the "Parents and Children" episode of the drama series Nothing Sacred. Her first starring role on a TV show was playing Marian Kitt on the horror/mystery series The Others. She received top billing on the show and appeared in all thirteen episodes. Julianne went on to play Jenny Shaw in season five of the legal dramedy series Ally McBeal and was credited in thirteen episodes. In 2006, Nicholson began playing Detective Megan Wheeler on the NBC crime procedural Law & Order: Criminal Intent. In 2012, she appeared in six episodes of the HBO series Boardwalk Empire as Esther Randolph.
