"Melt Down" is the fifth episode of the 1977-1978 television series Man from Atlantis. It is the first regular episode of the series discounting the first four pilot movies. It was directed by Virgil W. Vogel and written by Tom Greene. It first aired on NBC on Thursday, September 22nd, 1977. In this episode, the villainous Mister Schubert is determined to get his hands on Mark Harris so he can study his amphibious biology. To this end, he melts the world's polar ice caps, causing the sea levels to rise at an alarming rate. He threatens to flood the world unless Mark submits to his demands.
