|Final:||"The Thing That Wouldn't Die (Part 2)"|
Mary Albright is a fictional Anthropology professor and one of the main characters featured on the 1996-2001 NBC comedy series 3rd Rock from the Sun. She is played by actress Jane Curtin and was introduced in the series' pilot episode, "Brains and Eggs". Like all of the billed cast members from the series, Mary Albright is credited in all 139 episodes of the show, but actually only appears in 136 episodes.
Mary Albright is an Anthropology professor at Pendelton State University in Rutherford, Ohio. Though respected by her peers (somewhat), Mary has deep self-esteem issues stemming from a wide variety of experiences that took place during her adolescence. Despite this however, she comports herself with great dignity, but it doesn't take much to make emotionally unravel. Most of the stress in Mary's life is caused by her co-worker and her on-again/off-again boyfriend, Dick Solomon, whom Mary shares an office with. Dick is a Physics professor and a purported widower, but in truth, he is actually an alien from another planet who has come to Earth to undertand the planet's customs and culture. Mary is oblivious to Dick's true nature though he has tried to reveal the truth about his origins to her on several occasions.
