"Kryptonie" is the second episode of season one of the comedy television series New Girl. The episode was directed by Jake Kasdan and written by series creator Liz Meriwether. It first aired on the FOX Network on Tuesday, September 20th, 2011. The series stars Zooey Deschanel as Jess Day, an elementary school teacher, who intends on surprising her boyfriend by stripping down nude for him in his apartment, only to learn a shocking surprise herself - he's cheating on her. Deciding to move onward and upward, Jess leaves him and moves into a loft apartment with three male roomates, Nick Miller, Schmidt and the noticeably absent Winston Bishop.
