An uncredited child actress played the role of Persis during flashback scenes in her second appearance. The character was introduced in the fourth season episode "Borderland" and was also seen in "Cold Station 12" and "The Augments" (all of which aired consecutively).

Biography Edit

Persis was a genetically augmented human female created in a laboratory on Cold Station 12 by Doctor Arik Soong in the year 2134. She existed in an embryonic state for ten years until Doctor Soong stole a supply of genetic samples and accelerated the embryos' growth rate on his own, giving birth to a race of genetically superior beings known as Augments. Soong was eventually arrested for his crimes and placed in prison.

The adult Persis was romantically attached to one of her "brothers", an Augment named Raakin. Raakin assumed the leadership role of the Augments and they set out on their own in search of Doctor Soong. One of Raakin's followers, Malik, grew jealous of Persis' devotion to Raakin and incurred the leader's distrust when he commandeered a Klingon Bird-of-Prey, killing all members on board. Persis began to see that Raakin was a weak leader and that it was Malik who was best suited to lead the Augments. She betrayed Raakin and set him up for an ambush whereupon Malik stabbed him through the chest and took Persis as his own. [1]

Notes & Trivia Edit

  • The character may have been named after the late actress Persis Khambatta, who played Lieutenant Ilia in the 1979 film Star Trek: The Motion Picture.
