"The Ultimate Imposter" is the thirteenth episode of season four of the American science fiction/action series The Six Million Dollar Man and the sixty-ninth episode of the series overall. The episode was directed by Paul Stanley with a teleplay written by Larry Forrester and W.T. Zacha. It first aired on ABC on Sunday, January 2nd, 1977.

  • This episode was originally conceived as a potential spin-off series, which would have been titled The Ultimate Imposter, but the project never materialized. However, director Paul Stanley and writers W.T. Zacha and Larry Forrester revisited the concept for the 1979 stand-alone movie, also titled The Ultimate Imposter. Similar themes were also used for the 1990s NBC television series The Pretender. [2][3]
