Skaro is a fictional planet featured in the Doctor Who multimedia franchise. It first appeared in 1963 in the series one episode, "The Escape". Skaro is the homeworld of the Kaleds and the war-ravaged Mutos. It is notable for being the birth place of the Daleks, which have proved to be the Doctor's most enduring and most popular alien adversary.

History Edit

The Daleks sought to lure the Eleventh Doctor into a trap, so they sent a cloaked messenger to infiltrate the Time Lord's dreams. He told the Doctor that a woman named Darla von Karlsen desperately needed the Doctor's help and gave him the coordinates on where he could find her. The messenger prodded the Doctor to say the planet's name, and after some prodding, he finally whispered... "Skaro". [1] The Doctor traveled to Skaro and met with Darla in the ruins of a Dalek citadel. She told him that her daughter Hannah had been imprisoned in a Dalek work camp, and required the Doctor's help. When Darla said that she too was a prisoner, but had escaped, the Doctor immediately knew that this was a trap. Before he could take action, Darla revealed herself as a Dalek puppet and captured him.
