"Alternate World" is the sixth episode of season one of the sci-fi television series Timecop. It was directed by Martha Mitchell and written by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar. It first aired on ABC on Saturday, June 20th, 1998. In this episode, a rogue officer of the Time Enforcement Commission alters the past so that Jack Logan is now a criminal.

- Carrot Top is an American stand-up comedian, whose real name is Scott Thompson. He adapted the stage name of Carrot Top because of his bright, curly red hair. He is known for self-depricating humor and for using various props in his routines.
- In 1989, young Jack Logan sees a movie poster for the fictional film Time Pirates. This may be a nod to the 1981 Terry Gilliam fantasy film Time Bandits.
- Reference is made to Top Gun in this episode. Top Gun is a 1986 action film directed by Tony Scott starring Tom Cruise. It is considered one of the hallmark films of the 1980s.
- Matty Ripps makes reference to Jean-Luc Picard in this episode. Jean-Luc Picard is a fictional space officer and the main character on the 1980s/90s sci-fi series Star Trek: The Next Generation.
