Yeoman Tina Lawton is a fictional character featured on the original 1960s science fiction television series Star Trek. Played by actress Patricia McNulty, she appeared in the second episode of the series, "Charlie X".

Biography[]

Tina Lawton was a young woman who served aboard the starship USS Enterprise in the year 2266 under the command of Captain James T. Kirk.

On Stardate 1533.6, Yeoman Lawton was approached by fellow yeoman Janice Rand who asked her if she would like to meet a boy named Charlie Evans. Rand knew that Charlie had taken an unhealthy interest in her and tried to steer him towards a woman closer to him in age. When she introduced the two of them, Charlie dismissed her, which Rand found to be extremely rude. Dismayed, Tina turned on her heal, sarcastically commenting that there must be somebody on the ship who would like to hang out with her.

Later on, Charlie had a chance encounter with her in a corridor. Wishing to express even further contempt for her (brought on by high levels of anxiety and stress), Charlie used his fantastic powers to transform her into an iguana. Fortunately for Yeoman Lawton, the alien Thasians that gave Charlie his power turned Tina Lawton back to normal. [1]

Notes & Trivia[]

  • Assuming that Janice Rand is correct and that Tina Lawton is the same age as Charlie Evans, this would make her only seventeen-years-old, effectively making her one of the youngest Starfleet to serve aboard a starship up until that point. However, it is just as likely that Rand may have been guessing about Lawton's age.
