Truman Burrell is a fictional politician and a recurring antagonist character featured on the HBO television series True Blood. Played by actor Arliss Howard, he was introduced in the season six premiere, "Who Are You, Really?". He made nine appearances in the series in total.

Biography[]

Truman Burrell was the governor of Louisiana in the 2010s. Though he claimed to have once been a supporter of the Vampire Rights Amendment, his true agenda rapidly unveiled itself after members of the Vampire Authority began destroying Tru Blood factories, ultimately resulting in the deaths of 246 Louisianians. In the wake of this destruction, Governor Burrell openly initiated an executive order declaring that all vampire-owned businesses were to be shut down immediately. He also imposed a strict curfew, citing that vampires were not allowed to leave their homes after sundown. (TB: Who Are You, Really?)
