War of the Worlds is a Canadian television series and a sequel to the original 1953 film adaptation of H. G. Wells' War of the Worlds. The series was produced by Paramount Television and aired in first run syndication for two seasons from October, 1988 to May, 1990, spanning a total of forty-four episodes. The premise is similar to that of the film, which in turn was based on the novel, War of the Worlds, written in 1897.
The series stars Jared Martin as Harrison Blackwood, Lynda Mason Green as Suzanne McCullough, Philip Akin as Norton Drake, Richard Chaves as Colonel Paul Ironhorse, and Adrian Paul as John Kincaid.
